Adventure you dont want to forget - and that's what it is, an unforgettable adventure in Araneta Coliseum when Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Goofy were on ICE!
The show was awesome! As in totally amazing (considering also that its the first time - for all of us!). Duncan's applause was suddenly new... his arms was now raised up above in the air. He was so excited... he won't eat - neither took a break to drink his milk. Adventure of "aws" (as in Mickey Mouse and Friends) includes the Lion King: superb skaters - Duncan's eyes were not even blinking... (umm how bout learning to ice skate when you grow older) 101 Dalmatians : (the "haf-hafs", as Duncan calls them) , Little Mermaid: the fish!, Peter Pan: "fly", and Lilo and Stitch: "titch"!
It was indeed a good 2-hour show.
We strolled around Gateway (where Duncan's first mall experience happened) and later went to visit Duncan's pedia.
Flashback to the day before: Duncan was not able to take his bath because he has colds and slight fever which officially becomes a fever that night.
Flashback to the morning that day: Duncan is all right! No fever!
Going back to the pedia - he was given his meds for the cough and we will observe him if ever he will have fever again.
What a Saturday!

Duncan's last day @ Gymboree
It was a nice play class for Duncan. The topic was about a fireman and they were only 3 in the class. He was the only one listening to the story - and when he found out his classmates where doing something else, he will stand-up and call them up. He was very participative all thru out the class although he still can't jump, he can crawl down on a big log sloping at 30 degrees, go down on a ladder correctly, climb like spidey and sing (with actions) the wheels of the truck and follow his teacher's instructions all thru-out the 1 hour class. We are so very proud of you Duncan. Let's just wait until they open a schedule during weekends - and you'll be meeting Gymbo again!

Welcome Year 2008!
Its been a looong time since the last blog and tons of exciting adventures have happened.
Adventure 1. Duncan and his gymboree play classes. Dad and Mom enrolled him for a 12 week play class in Gymboree Shangri-la Plaza in Mandaluyong (1 session per week). Last session will be this coming January 8th. From Level 5 (saturday class) he moved to Level 6 (tuesday class) . Mom had to be on leave every tuesday mornings to be with the makulit monkey / train / duck - depending on what he will be based on the theme of the week. He was so attentive! Listening to the storytelling (he was laying down on his tummy on the floor with his hands on his chin) , following teacher's instructions and joining the group. He had a hard time jumping from a high distance though. He was very cautious! Instead of free jumping, he will hold on to someone or something before jumping. (Could it be due to the high jump he made when he escaped his crib when he was still a baby. hehehe. As in, he made his way up, out of the wooden crib then down to the wooden floor). He has full of energy! After the class, he will stay and play. Hanging like a monkey, climbing on everything his feet can reach, playing balls, horsing around, jumping, running and just having fun. We attended art class too, but we feel he was not ready yet. He was super uncomfortable having a dirt on. He will say "ash" (meaning = wash) whenever he saw some tint of color on his hands. Hayyyy! Music class was also ok. He enjoyed the instruments but he best enjoyed Gymbo (which he calls "bobo") over the play class. He knows every song... "welcome, welcome everyone... now were here let's have some fun. First we clap our hands just so... (clapping his hands now) then we reach (already touching his toes) and touch our toes..." His favorite part when he was still in level 5 was the part where his dad will carry him and raise him up, up above!
Adventure 2. Duncan @ Little Gym. They have a trial class which we took. At first Duncan was like a little monkey holding on to Mommy's legs and 10 mins later - he was already by himself, chasing his smaller "beasties" classmates. They are more on gymnastics. Duncan enjoyed their class, too. (as an added bonus, they gave us Freebie/Souvenier from "Ella, the Enchanted Movie"!)
Adventure 3. Duncan in Batangas (Bonifacio Day). Finally, we did have a chance to visit Batangas again even if the Rancho Bridge in Cuenca was not passable to vehicles. We rode on the bus and had a flat tire in Lipa City. Luckily- there was a jeepney waiting for us - they told us that the bridge was still passable to commuters. Duncan had a great time walking / crossing the bridge cutting our trip to at least by an hour. As usual, they were all happy to see the little darling. We went home the very next day... but it was fun seeing tataylolo and mommylola again.
Adventure 4. Duncan @ Trish's birthday party. Trisha Andrea Moriah Pachica's first birthday party was held at Classica Tower in Makati. It was supposed to be a custome party but Duncan dont want any custome at all. We all went there fully dressed-up just to attend a party by the pool! Duncan enjoyed the water, his feet submerged by the pool. The birthday girl slept even before she blow her birthday cake. At the end... Duncan has only his t-shirt and his diapers on! - what a costume.
News 101 : More words for Duncan. He knows how to count... one , to , tee, fo, ayv, six, ven, eight, nine , te.... tennnnnnnn! He also knows how to say the alphabet (kinda) . His "dog" was still "haf haf" . He knows his name, too - "Da" (still working for the can). He can clearly say the words as "kiss , cookie, eat, cook and many more" (mostly 1 syllable words).
News 102: Potty trained. For almost a month now, he no longer wears diaper during the day. He will run to whoever is in the room and say "wishh, wishhhh" his words for the weewee and "oo-oo" for the poop with his hands on his butt. He just needs assistance in the restroom but he can already pull-out his undies. Even with his diapers on, he will remove it and will still go to the restroom when he feels like it. When finished he will say "f-nish"! - That's our Duncan!
News 103: Duncan is already 15.5 kgs - from his 14.0 kgs two months ago.
Way to go Duncan!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Christmas for Duncan means going to reunions, seeing and playing with cousins and gifts + more gifts! It was nice seeing cousin River again and his new brother Rain. Then there was Echo (although they arrived later and thus never had a chance to play). It was also nice meeting Ninang Doodoo's "haf-haf" (= dog). Unlike the previous years, this year's Noche Buena was celebrated at Ninang Doodoo's place since Lolo Buting and Lola Lulu was outside the country.
Then we were at Lolo Doc's Residence in Marikina. Unlike the previous years when Duncan was allowing to take his special pose on his special sofa...., this time - he won't. He will run anywhere but seat steadily. So much for the traditional pose... (Mommy's sigh here!). It was fun seeing my new nephew, Izeck (yes, I'm already an uncle!)
And then... we went to Batangas last Dec 28 and the trip was kinda hard considering that the rancho bridge (in Cuenca) was still not repaired - BUT we made it after 3 long hours of driving. Thank you Daddy for being patient and a good driver. And thank you Duncan for being such a good passenger.
Activities:
Dec 28 - arrived @ 10:30 am. Had some breakfast and there were Duncan's tita's (playmates) to cheer Duncan even more. He had a hard time taking a break from all the playing, the running and the entertainment around (from the cats to dogs to roosters to the makukulit lolas)
Dec 29 - more playing for Duncan, more sleep for daddy, more "tsika" for mommy!
Dec 30 - it was Tataylolo's birthday. We prepared early for our trip to Shrine of Our Lady of Carmel Church to attend the mass. Daddy, Mommy, Duncan with Tataylolo, Mommylola and Tita Angie went together (tito Tebobs was the "taong-bahay"). The Church was beautiful and Duncan lighted a candle and made several poses for picture taking while Daddy had a fun time using his new EOS Camera. We went straight to Robinson's place Lipa for lunch - but Duncan was not in an eating mode. He already wanted to play! We took out his lunch which he later ate while watching the rides. He has fun riding the "helicopter" and "train" in Timezone and later in their BIG Carousel 2000. He rode on an animal ride with Tataylolo and we had a hard time convincing him to put on his shoes again (after he took it off to clim to a treehouse inside the mall. And then the nature had their share of the day. The rain fell while we have only 1 umbrella on hand and we have to commute and walk on the broken bridge. He was sleeping all the way home while we were all wet! Tito Tebos girlfriend was there with the pizza and Ninang Jo went for a visit, too.
Dec 31 - Preparation for the New Year.
January 1 eve. Duncan was sleeping! He looked funny trying to stay awake. And it was very cold and windy! We had our "lusis" and ... nothing else (hehe). Come home to Manila @ 7:30 and arrived @ 9:30! yes whooping 2 hours! We attended the mass to thank God for the wonderful year we had.

Sesame Street Mall Tour
No work for dad & mom starting November 1 to 4. This should have been a good time to go to Batangas again but unfortunately daddy was sick. We have to stay @ home during the first two days. We even weren't able to visit Papa Totong in Loyola...tsk..tsk.... BUT on the other hand, its a good thing that daddy got sick when it was not working day at least mom gets to look after him (although it seems like dad much like to take care of himself - while mom take care of the makulit Duncan)....AND there was a sesame st mall tour.
Duncan & Elmo
"nose"

Actually it was Daddy who saw the ad in the newspaper last Oct 28th - so we have to rush to Trinoma to have a glimpse of Duncan's pals - but since we arrive late, there was no more nametags, no more hotcakes and no more playing time. It was so not organized! There were even no seats for other people. Luckily, mom got a seat in-front so Duncan can watch their puppet show, magic show, bubble show and of course, the dancing Elmo, Cookie Monster, Ernie & Bert. There were also some personalities like Julius Babao and his baby, as well as Matet de Leon and her baby and the going bulilit gang... but they were just among us.... audience who wants to have a photo op with Duncan's favorites but hmpppp, boy, were the people just so loved them - - - it was so hard to take a decent pic.
Next pitstop was market!market! so off we go. This time, Duncan had his wrist and name tags and pancakes (which btw, was decorated by dad and mom, who also enjoyed the eating afterwards).
We also got our seats. Duncan enjoyed every minute of it and standing on his seat, he sang some songs and imitated what's on the stage. Know the song "Head and shoulder, knees and toes. Eyes and ears and mouth and nose"?
Finally, a photo op for both dad and mom with Duncan. Although still not organized it was a lot better than in the previous mall.
But that was just the beginning, the BEST part was.... the afterdark. Its a reunion of Duncan and Market!Market!'s play place. Once we set our feet on the area, Duncan removed his crocs and off he went. He was so active. Ran here and there, climbed up and down, sliding, gliding, beaming that he's up high. Mom's heart almost lost a beat when he went inside the tunnel and wont come out! Kids were already piling outside as they can't go through the big blockage that was Duncan. What did mom do?... she went inside the kiddie tunnel hoping that it wont fell apart. It's mother's instinct kicking in - who's to blame? Duncan's so energetic - he's sweating like he just went out from the shower and didn't dry off. It's his dad guiding him all through out - mom doesn't have the courage to not be so overprotective. He's already a big boy up there.... together with the big kids.

Little Angel
Its been a while since the last post. Daddy and mommy had been busy working the past 2 weeks, basically 12 to 13 hours a day and most of the time gone home dog-tired. Good thing, there is someone very special to come home to and vanishes the weariness away - yeah , you guessed it right...once you saw those smile ... ahh...its like magic... your strength was restored!

It is so amazing how his laugh is like a medicine - soothing every muscle pain in your body. His touch , so gentle , you crave for more. His kiss... its like winning a lottery a million times!

Bad Morning...
The "papaya" prince got up early again. This time he was the first in line going to daddy's car.... then... there he was on the ground! He tripped and got his lips bruised! tsk...tsk...! - probably he's a bit sleepy pa. Poor baby. Don't worry, tomorrow's gonna be a sunny day for you as you turn 26th month!
The "Papaya" Prince
After few months of no cable connection, the "papaya" dance was actually a "?" to mommy and daddy but lo and behold... it was Duncan's favorite these days. Duncan and his yaya would sing the "Papaya" song and dance to the beat. He looked so funny and so "bibo" dancing along with the rhythm and mind you, he's on the right timing... finally a dancer in the family! hehe.
It was mooncake festival in mommy & daddy's company last Saturday, September 22 and together with the "papaya" prince they rolled the dice to win lots of "hopia". Lots of kids were there, too - tugging along with their moms and dads. Steph, (tita Yvette's niece) was there as well. They plus Tito Lace & Tito Mark (mommy's officemates) were so entertained to watch Duncan's "papaya" moves (music c/o Tito Lace cellphone). Mommy was so proud!

September 23 was Ninong Ian's Birthday. Ninong Rain and Tita Kaye were also there to celebrate. We had chicken, sisig, squid, nilaga and my favorite spaghetti plus cake! Duncan also signed on Ninong Ian's birthday card.
Happy Birthday, Ninong! Teach me to play guitar , organ and all others when I grow up.... love Duncan.

Taho boy
@ 7:30am the little prince was already awake. He drank his milk, afterwhich got his wallet (with 1 peso inside), put on the crocs and went outside with mommy. At the gate he shouted "ho!" ... apparently, he just wants to buy taho. (too bad there is still no taho this early tsk.. tsk)
Scenario @ 9:30pm
Lights out.
Daddy coughing.
Duncan lying in bed surrounded by pillows.
Mommy getting the Vicks VapoRub.
Mommy on Daddy: "labs, I will put you vicks on the bottom of your feet then cover it with socks. I heard it from someone and somewhat worked to stop coughing... let's try it on you."
After the procedure, mommy readies herself to sleep, then suddenly...
those little feet were in her place, the little darling wants the same thing.
Final Scenario
Father & Son sleeping soundly with their socks on and smelled so Vicks!

Haircut
Father & Son had their hair cut from their favorite "barbero/a" in Mandaluyong. It was Duncan's 3rd time with Ms. Barbero (5th hair cut since 1 yo; 1st & 2nd time was in Kids's Hair Salon @ Rustan's Makati - 5x the charge!). Compared with his first 2 experiences, Duncan was more cooperative this time. He even agreed to put on the "balabal" and to seat steady. While both daddy and mommy were holding him previously (to hold his hands), this time mommy managed to support him while daddy played for him his toys (to distract him). The two boys have the same haircut, obviously because they have the same hairline. (hehe). Thanks also to Zach, the owner's grandson (we assume), who always plays with him and shares his toys so Duncan won't get bored. While waiting for his turn Duncan "talked" to one of the customer explaning that he will have his hair cut (by holding his hair and pointing to his dad) and entertained her while he imitated Zach's dancing toy robot. Duncan looked like a boy now. Few more months and he will be on his own having his hair cut (exagg!)

What happened to the check-up?
Nothing. We ended-up taking home the empty containers for poop and urine which were never been filled... because with all of God's grace, on the day of his check-up he's completely ok!
That morning, we went to one of our Ninang's building in Makati. Duncan received his post birthday gift and was just overjoyed to receive his first sesame street lunch box complete with tumbler plus sesame street pencil case with sesame street mechanical pencils , paste and sharpener. Have lunch in our favorite World Chicken (Glorietta Food Court), strolled a little and off we go to St. Lukes.
We were supposed to give his pedia results from his poop & urine test but after an hour of waiting for the specimen Duncan can't produce we went for the check-up anyway. The pedia says probably its just viral. We just have to monitor his temp and continue with his vitamins.
That night, we were all peacefully asleep till morning.
Thanks God!

Duncan's Fever
Hay! Duncan's on & off fever has been driving us nuts! Its been 2 nights already that he's having fever until 5:00 am only. Come morning.... its gone! His diet is ok.... except for the 2 days before yesterday that I have to run to Yoshinoya for his all-day meal. Now he's enjoying mamon and ensaimada from Red Ribbon.
Tomorrow, we'll gonna see his pedia again. Hope everything's well.

Pissss!
We have long been waiting for Duncan to talk... or to at least understand what he is saying. We are kind'a worried what's keeping him from speaking the actual "words". Most of the time he is speaking in some sort of foreign language that cannot be found in any dictionary.
He can clearly say some words though :
dadi, yaya, cookie, spider, spider away, ball, loon (short of balloon), ayoto (ayoko), di (hindi), py (short of puppy), true (when singing rubber duckie), blue, bow (short of rainbow), juice , shoes, up (when going up), car, bye, chi (atchi - the other yaya), ap-pol (apple), be (bear), luya (alleluya, song in the church & in shrek 2), yah (yes!), bobo (from gymboree and his name for the mascot in Max's), baby, pooh and some others that he can say when he is mad (not bad words of course!)
What's sad is he still cannot say mommy (huhuhu), save the best for last!
Few nights ago, Duncan wanted to go out of the room but since its so hot outside (our AC is already on) I told him no. And out from nowhere did he say.... "piss, piss, pisssss...." along with the tagging of my hand and pushing me back to the door to open it for him. Hahaha... at least he knows how to say please (i think so). And then again last night, Duncan got his Daddy's cellphone. But of course, since its still brand new - the little angel cannot play with it yet. We both laugh when with matching facial expression, he said "pissss, pissssss!" . hahaha... better luck next time kiddo...! But of course we did give him not just one but two of the old cellphones. He took it with both hand and while walking away both cellphone in either ear, he "talked" to the person on the other line. Whether they understood each other is but a diiferent story.

Weekend in Batangas
Its Duncan's 25th month birthday. Imagine the excitement of tataylolo and mommylola when they learned that their only grandson is to spend the weekend in Batangas. As usual Daddy did the driving and though we experienced traffic we arrived safe in 2 1/2 hours. Duncan was also excited to see his new friend "py" (short of puppy) and the rest of the 5 cats. Not to mention the hen with its newly hatched chicks as well as the rooster and of course the lolo & lolas, and little aunties who are all there to play with the star of the day - Duncan.
He didn't sleep the whole day and played and charmed everyone with his "chinese" speaking skills- hehe. He had the whole fun of entertaining everyone while showing how to play his toys.
We went home sunday after lunch. Passed by Robinson's Place Lipa so Duncan can continue having the time of his life riding the huge carousel and rides in Time Zone. Thanks tataylo for my new volleyball and to my mommylola for the superb meals. Sure will gonna miss you all.
Till next time!

Happy 2nd Birthday Duncan
Can't believe the little baby is now a toddler - a very "makulit" toddler that is. We went to celebrate Duncan's birthday @ Market! Market! And how did we celebrate?
- and it would't be complete if he will not play outside on his favorite playplace where he ran on barefeet!
Duncan @ 2
- Go to a studio for a photo session (2 year old souvenier pix).
- Ate lunch @ Bacolod Chicken
Duncan's favorites are La Paz Bachoy & of course their pecho! Together with their small bowls and saucers (which he plays while eating), Duncan can eat almost a cup of rice.
- Take the cool rides @ Timezone
Busy bee

Happy worm
- watched Ratatouille (Rat-a-too-ee), duncan's third movie already!

Sesame St. Live in Manila!
We (Duncan specially), have been waiting for this day when we can see our favorite Sesame St. Pals live here in Aliw Theater, CCP Complex, Manila. (Thank you, Mama for the tickets!). Show will start @ 11:00. Original plan is to go there early (but as usual we left a little late). Good thing it started @ 11:30 just enough for us to relax first after the tension we experienced along the way (First, Roxas Blvd. had been closed to traffic for the Milo Marathon. Second, we were not familiar with the streets in Manila. Third, its suuuuuuper traffic. Fourth, we went to the wrong entrance and finally, the road to the Aliw Theater was also closed (good thing we were allowed to enter anyway!)
Duncan excited to see his sesame st. pals
The show was very good. It was short (close to 2 hours) but we enjoyed it very much. Duncan wouldn't even blink an eye during the show and he looked so happy seeing them dance. We have a good seat also. Row 6 Center Aisle.

Serious audience & The Casts of Sesame St.
Dancing...

Till next time!
