Weekend in Batangas!

Its my last session in gymboree last saturday, it should have been real fun except that I'm still coughing. (Dra. Dumlao says that I'll be taking my Ventolin Expectorant first and we will come back again after 3-5 days to see if there is a development. ) The lesson is about building a house. I now know how to "hammer the nails, saw the wood, lay the bricks" if I build my house. I will miss my classes here but I still got my play coupons so I can still pay a visit over my friend gymbo.

In that same afternoon, it was finally decided that we push-thru our plans in going to Batangas. It was my Tita Kathleen's 18th birthday debut party and everybody is there. Too bad its raining so I was not able to watch. However, I learned to call myself "Daka Cos" (short version of Duncan Marcos). All my lola's were delighted seeing me again. Of course, I'm still the star of the show. They started to come over to our house once they realized I'm already home.

We came back again to Manila the morning after. Everybody is there to bid us goodbye.

What I nice weekend it definitely is!

School Matters: Week 2

After knowing the "sirkoh", we now moved to knowing the parts of my body. This, I know by heart. Guess what my favorite part of the body is... it is no other than..."kilikili"....hehehe. I like it when I raise my arms and daddy will kiss me in the "kilikili" (perhaps its his favorite part of my body too!). I will definitely give a very loud giggling, laughing sound everytime mommy puts a ball in my "kilikili". And we usually play a game called... touch that "kilikili"! It really is fun.

We also moved to other shapes: heart, oblong, rectangle and diamond. I took home our art project and showed it to mommy. Mommy commented, "What a nice fan!". I said, "No! Its a fly". Then I made some flying motions and showed her a picture of a butterfly. I made it myself!

and we also stuffed a rectangle.

BTW, here is the reply of teacher Kat regarding my appetite in school:

"Duncan sometimes can't finish all his food but he eats what is required of him. He finished his beef macaroni and ham sandwich. "
I started coughing yesterday afternoon. Mom notes to my communication notebook that I can still play but that my back should always be dry. We will visit my pedia again. Oh boy, another round of medicines for me.

Dada's Shoes!

Hey, its my 35th-month birthday! We have a class today so me and yaya went to "schoo" as usual. Snack for today is beef macaroni and Mom wondered whether I'am eating right in school because she knows I haven't eaten macaroni in my lifetime. Mom wrote to teacher Kat last night how am I in terms of my eating in school. Perhaps, teacher Kat has something to say because when Mom checked my communication notebook, its not in my bag.

Well, something happened today. At the end of our class, we went out of our room and went to our rack where we "hide" our shoes. You see, every morning, teacher Kat goes out in the school's waiting area where we are basically "waiting", to fetch all of Nursery 1 students (that's us). We fall in line and as we enter we take off our shoes and place it nicely in the shoe rack. We enter our room with just our socks. So there! When I am about to put on my pair of shoes, I found the other piece of my shoe in CJ's hand. He's telling teacher Kat and his mom that its his shoes, while I am sure it is mine! I asked yaya's help so she can get my shoe from CJ's. Teacher Kat asked me again if that's my shoes and I said, "Dada's shoes!" So teacher Kat recovered my shoe from CJ's grip which made him cry. CJ's mom wasn't exactly sure if it was or wasn't CJ's because she was not the one who bought his shoes. Yaya told mommy about this because apparently yaya was not sure either if it really is mine. You know what, when I came home, I made sure my shoe won't be taken from me again, I put it beside me in my sleep. Daddy confirmed that it really is my shoe and Mom put already my name in it. See, it really is Dada's shoes!

Presenting my 1st pair of school shoes:

Note: Its name is Edmund (model name) and it is size 10! See at age 35months I'm already a 10! We bought this from Market!Market!.

Tweet-tweet's Gone!

First bad news was that I cannot go to my "schoo" today because it was declared by DECS that all classes were suspended. 2nd is that Daddy and Mommy were off to their office again leaving me with yaya, atchi and mama. Even if I did take Mommy outside, I still feel sad that I cannot go with her in the office. Then, the owner of Tweet-tweet came over to our house to get him. I was pulling Atchi's hand so he can get Tweet-tweet from that man's hand but... they just can't because it was not ours. I really am so sad. Anyway, our neighbor promised to give me a bird once his other bird's eggs were hatched. Sigh*, Oh well... I might as well be contended with my turtle!

My Friend Tweet-tweet

There was a typhoon today but that never made my mood bad at all because of Tweet-tweet. Tweet-tweet was a bird who happens to fly over to our place. It has an orange and green feathers and a curved beak. I should have taken a picture but there was no electric current and my camera had no charge. tsktsk. Temporarily, it was resting on our old hamper.... and I know he calls me when he shouts tweet-tweet! Oh I love my Tweet-tweet!

Eating Time!

Mom and I had a fight again. This time, its because I didnt take my nap and I feel grumpy already.... But I need to have my dinner. Since I still wanted to stay awake, well, I look for some ways to do it. The TV was already turned on as an added distraction... But I still ran in circle until mommy catches me and holds me tight. This is not good. I didn't want to be trapped so I did "again" that thing she hates me doing. Of course I cried afterwards and Mama is already there to "rescue me". Poor mommy did not know what else to do but to call yaya. Good thing Yaya came to our life because she is just so patient with me.... specially feeding me. Mommy ends up carrying me while yaya feeds me. Some other times, I will run onto the top of the bed... sometimes I climb at the bed's headboard and when she catches me... my mouth is already ready for another spoon, that is if I already swallowed my food. But everytime I realized that Daddy and Mommy were already here... it even gets tougher. I will run outside and will no longer eat wanting to play with them already. And I noticed that it is with this eating that Mommy was so frustrated at me. She wanted that I eat by myself while seating on my nice chair and as an added bonus I can eat while I'm watching my favorite show. Well I'm doing this sometimes when we were out on the mall. I was just seating on the high chair. My spoon on my right hand, I will eat until I'm full. Mom still cuts the fish though but at least I eat on my own. I know how to eat, its just that, it seems like a real fun running away from mommy or yaya while they are holding the spoon and running after me, chasing me and catching me before the food finally reaches my mouth. What a spoiled brat!

Btw, I have an "accidental leak" today at the grocery and I ended up wearing my pull-ups diapers while I am in my polo and denim jacket. The people there were all smiling seeing me in my "attire".

Happy Birthday CJ!

My classmate CJ celebrated his birthday @ our "schoo". Mom bought me a gift for him based from his theme "Cars". I so loved to party and I was pretty excited to blow his cake.... errr, to watch him blow his cake I mean. Mom placed my camera inside my bag so I can take pictures but my teachers in Milestone preferred that they took the pictures so that I'am there as well. I was very happy with my lootbag! Ummm, I'm now thinking what my theme will be on July 25th.

Here's some of our pictures:

School Matters: Week 1

Lesson for the week is about shapes: circle, square and triangle. We have lots of activities and I already know the shapes although I have a hard time saying triangle.... I always end up saying... "gel". For our artwork... I have brought this one home, a "sirkoh!". Teacher Kat says, I have a great time in school.

This is the picture of "sirkoh" I took myself:

It is a "sirkoh" with sponged "sirkoh" I have done myself.

I'm a Pre-schooler!

It was really not planned that I will go to school before I even turned 3, but for some luck, Mom chanced upon a website and was impressed by this school. Since I'm lacking playmates of my age (excuse me yaya, atchi and mama) and I haven't been "communicating orally" clearly and I'm bored being at the house the whole day and I need to be socially active and I need to interact with other people except my family and Mommy thinks it will greatly help me when I go to big school and Daddy agreed.... I'm going to Milestone!

What really caught daddy and mommy was the fact that when we first visited the school, I went with my soon to be Teacher Kat to the blue room where she will assess me without any hesitation at all! Given that I really am shy and don't usually go with a stranger.

And without further adieu, here I am on my first day of school....

Mommy and daddy accompanied me to my very first day and while mom, preferred to stay behind to give way to my dad - he and me attended my first class. (to photograph me of course!).

I think I'm very much liking this new adventure.

Mader Goose Birthday

We went to Batangas last Saturday after attending my playclass in gymboree and strolling in Megamall with Dad. With us are Ninang Sistah and Tita Angie who went to Manila from Batangas to go shopping. Mom met us in Megamall as she had to do an overtime in her office.

On Sunday, we attended Mommy's Tito Dindo and Ate Jasmin's church wedding. It was raining all day but I had a chance to be a photographer for the event. I went to the altar to take their pix together with their photographer. Totally cool! Some of my photos:

and this is me.... "The little photographer":

And then.... its "A"s (short for grandma) 60th birthday! We were up early to get the birthday cake and to go to Mc Donalds since I haven't been eating since Saturday. It was fun playing and eating is a total waste of time.... and so I thought. Dad and Mom and me almost melt under the sun! Its too hot and the traffic is worst! Our supposed-to-be 15min travel to Bauan became 45mins! huh, that's 3x! And so I was able to eat 3/4 of mc do spaghetti + the fries + the iced tead and got to enjoy my new toy from kiddie meal.

The celebration was well attended by so many relatives, teachers and friends. I can say that "A" was so happy. Although mom was not a "pro" but she opted to be videographer while dad was the professional photographer. And me... I'm the total entertainer.

We went home at exactly 3pm (mom will be in trouble if we didnt make it in time). And strolled in the megamall so we can drink Wendy's Iced Tea. Huh, I've never been this thirsty before. I keep bugging mom for the juice since I woke up in Magallanes area.

Happy Birthday "A", we love you. I'm wishing you more years to come so you can get to play with me more. And thank you for taking good care of mom all through out the years.

Ninang Sistah is Home Again

She arrived on my 39th month @ 3:20pm. Her plane landed @ 2:30 but her luggage was the last in line. It was fun seeing her again after a year. We went straight to duty free hoping we can see something worth buying. Unfortunately, we went out with no plastic bags. On our way looking for a resto, we saw the SM Bicutan and decided to drop by since I was never been there.

First stop of course - is what we came here for - children's section. Ninang Sistah promised to buy me a bag since I will be going to school in one week. I decided I like Spidey better than Mickey (too bad I can't have both... hehehe). Its like a backpack and a trolley at the same time and even has a water bottle at the side.

Ninang Sistah was really hungry so we decided to eat early dinner at Chicken Inasal. Oh boy, I never realized I was this hungry... I ate almost 3/4 cup of rice! I knew I needed a visit in the restroom after this.

At 7 pm, we're on our way to Batangas. We're kinda lost, well not really - we just end up on a bumpy service road rather than the smooth SLEX and finally at 10:00 we're major rock stars! Everybody is waiting for us. Not even the dogs were sleeping. One thing I realized, however, is that I'm more popular than my ninang Sistah because even she was amazed on how chinese I speak! (hehehe)

I really wasn't in the mood to sleep but mom forced me to sleep... because she already is too sleepy. Dad was also snoring so its best that I rest also for tomorrow's great day.

The next morning is all about play. Mom looked too depressed on how I reject to swallow any food she offers. Its just fun playing with Tita's Maureen, Lelen and Nene inside the big camping tent.

On sunday after mass, we went back to Manila.

Now I'm already counting 6 more days and I'll be back again for my Grandma's 60th birthday celebration!

Disney on Ice

Adventure you dont want to forget - and that's what it is, an unforgettable adventure in Araneta Coliseum when Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Goofy were on ICE!

The show was awesome! As in totally amazing (considering also that its the first time - for all of us!). Duncan's applause was suddenly new... his arms was now raised up above in the air. He was so excited... he won't eat - neither took a break to drink his milk. Adventure of "aws" (as in Mickey Mouse and Friends) includes the Lion King: superb skaters - Duncan's eyes were not even blinking... (umm how bout learning to ice skate when you grow older) 101 Dalmatians : (the "haf-hafs", as Duncan calls them) , Little Mermaid: the fish!, Peter Pan: "fly", and Lilo and Stitch: "titch"!

It was indeed a good 2-hour show.

We strolled around Gateway (where Duncan's first mall experience happened) and later went to visit Duncan's pedia.

Flashback to the day before: Duncan was not able to take his bath because he has colds and slight fever which officially becomes a fever that night.

Flashback to the morning that day: Duncan is all right! No fever!

Going back to the pedia - he was given his meds for the cough and we will observe him if ever he will have fever again.

What a Saturday!

Duncan's last day @ Gymboree

It was a nice play class for Duncan. The topic was about a fireman and they were only 3 in the class. He was the only one listening to the story - and when he found out his classmates where doing something else, he will stand-up and call them up. He was very participative all thru out the class although he still can't jump, he can crawl down on a big log sloping at 30 degrees, go down on a ladder correctly, climb like spidey and sing (with actions) the wheels of the truck and follow his teacher's instructions all thru-out the 1 hour class. We are so very proud of you Duncan. Let's just wait until they open a schedule during weekends - and you'll be meeting Gymbo again!

Welcome Year 2008!

Its been a looong time since the last blog and tons of exciting adventures have happened.

Adventure 1. Duncan and his gymboree play classes. Dad and Mom enrolled him for a 12 week play class in Gymboree Shangri-la Plaza in Mandaluyong (1 session per week). Last session will be this coming January 8th. From Level 5 (saturday class) he moved to Level 6 (tuesday class) . Mom had to be on leave every tuesday mornings to be with the makulit monkey / train / duck - depending on what he will be based on the theme of the week. He was so attentive! Listening to the storytelling (he was laying down on his tummy on the floor with his hands on his chin) , following teacher's instructions and joining the group. He had a hard time jumping from a high distance though. He was very cautious! Instead of free jumping, he will hold on to someone or something before jumping. (Could it be due to the high jump he made when he escaped his crib when he was still a baby. hehehe. As in, he made his way up, out of the wooden crib then down to the wooden floor). He has full of energy! After the class, he will stay and play. Hanging like a monkey, climbing on everything his feet can reach, playing balls, horsing around, jumping, running and just having fun. We attended art class too, but we feel he was not ready yet. He was super uncomfortable having a dirt on. He will say "ash" (meaning = wash) whenever he saw some tint of color on his hands. Hayyyy! Music class was also ok. He enjoyed the instruments but he best enjoyed Gymbo (which he calls "bobo") over the play class. He knows every song... "welcome, welcome everyone... now were here let's have some fun. First we clap our hands just so... (clapping his hands now) then we reach (already touching his toes) and touch our toes..." His favorite part when he was still in level 5 was the part where his dad will carry him and raise him up, up above!

Adventure 2. Duncan @ Little Gym. They have a trial class which we took. At first Duncan was like a little monkey holding on to Mommy's legs and 10 mins later - he was already by himself, chasing his smaller "beasties" classmates. They are more on gymnastics. Duncan enjoyed their class, too. (as an added bonus, they gave us Freebie/Souvenier from "Ella, the Enchanted Movie"!)

Adventure 3. Duncan in Batangas (Bonifacio Day). Finally, we did have a chance to visit Batangas again even if the Rancho Bridge in Cuenca was not passable to vehicles. We rode on the bus and had a flat tire in Lipa City. Luckily- there was a jeepney waiting for us - they told us that the bridge was still passable to commuters. Duncan had a great time walking / crossing the bridge cutting our trip to at least by an hour. As usual, they were all happy to see the little darling. We went home the very next day... but it was fun seeing tataylolo and mommylola again.

Adventure 4. Duncan @ Trish's birthday party. Trisha Andrea Moriah Pachica's first birthday party was held at Classica Tower in Makati. It was supposed to be a custome party but Duncan dont want any custome at all. We all went there fully dressed-up just to attend a party by the pool! Duncan enjoyed the water, his feet submerged by the pool. The birthday girl slept even before she blow her birthday cake. At the end... Duncan has only his t-shirt and his diapers on! - what a costume.

News 101 : More words for Duncan. He knows how to count... one , to , tee, fo, ayv, six, ven, eight, nine , te.... tennnnnnnn! He also knows how to say the alphabet (kinda) . His "dog" was still "haf haf" . He knows his name, too - "Da" (still working for the can). He can clearly say the words as "kiss , cookie, eat, cook and many more" (mostly 1 syllable words).

News 102: Potty trained. For almost a month now, he no longer wears diaper during the day. He will run to whoever is in the room and say "wishh, wishhhh" his words for the weewee and "oo-oo" for the poop with his hands on his butt. He just needs assistance in the restroom but he can already pull-out his undies. Even with his diapers on, he will remove it and will still go to the restroom when he feels like it. When finished he will say "f-nish"! - That's our Duncan!

News 103: Duncan is already 15.5 kgs - from his 14.0 kgs two months ago.

Way to go Duncan!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Christmas for Duncan means going to reunions, seeing and playing with cousins and gifts + more gifts! It was nice seeing cousin River again and his new brother Rain. Then there was Echo (although they arrived later and thus never had a chance to play). It was also nice meeting Ninang Doodoo's "haf-haf" (= dog). Unlike the previous years, this year's Noche Buena was celebrated at Ninang Doodoo's place since Lolo Buting and Lola Lulu was outside the country.

Then we were at Lolo Doc's Residence in Marikina. Unlike the previous years when Duncan was allowing to take his special pose on his special sofa...., this time - he won't. He will run anywhere but seat steadily. So much for the traditional pose... (Mommy's sigh here!). It was fun seeing my new nephew, Izeck (yes, I'm already an uncle!)

And then... we went to Batangas last Dec 28 and the trip was kinda hard considering that the rancho bridge (in Cuenca) was still not repaired - BUT we made it after 3 long hours of driving. Thank you Daddy for being patient and a good driver. And thank you Duncan for being such a good passenger.

Activities:

Dec 28 - arrived @ 10:30 am. Had some breakfast and there were Duncan's tita's (playmates) to cheer Duncan even more. He had a hard time taking a break from all the playing, the running and the entertainment around (from the cats to dogs to roosters to the makukulit lolas)

Dec 29 - more playing for Duncan, more sleep for daddy, more "tsika" for mommy!

Dec 30 - it was Tataylolo's birthday. We prepared early for our trip to Shrine of Our Lady of Carmel Church to attend the mass. Daddy, Mommy, Duncan with Tataylolo, Mommylola and Tita Angie went together (tito Tebobs was the "taong-bahay"). The Church was beautiful and Duncan lighted a candle and made several poses for picture taking while Daddy had a fun time using his new EOS Camera. We went straight to Robinson's place Lipa for lunch - but Duncan was not in an eating mode. He already wanted to play! We took out his lunch which he later ate while watching the rides. He has fun riding the "helicopter" and "train" in Timezone and later in their BIG Carousel 2000. He rode on an animal ride with Tataylolo and we had a hard time convincing him to put on his shoes again (after he took it off to clim to a treehouse inside the mall. And then the nature had their share of the day. The rain fell while we have only 1 umbrella on hand and we have to commute and walk on the broken bridge. He was sleeping all the way home while we were all wet! Tito Tebos girlfriend was there with the pizza and Ninang Jo went for a visit, too.

Dec 31 - Preparation for the New Year.

January 1 eve. Duncan was sleeping! He looked funny trying to stay awake. And it was very cold and windy! We had our "lusis" and ... nothing else (hehe). Come home to Manila @ 7:30 and arrived @ 9:30! yes whooping 2 hours! We attended the mass to thank God for the wonderful year we had.

From Elmo ... to Cookie Monster!
Yes... Cookie is his favorite at this time.

Sesame Street Mall Tour

No work for dad & mom starting November 1 to 4. This should have been a good time to go to Batangas again but unfortunately daddy was sick. We have to stay @ home during the first two days. We even weren't able to visit Papa Totong in Loyola...tsk..tsk.... BUT on the other hand, its a good thing that daddy got sick when it was not working day at least mom gets to look after him (although it seems like dad much like to take care of himself - while mom take care of the makulit Duncan)....AND there was a sesame st mall tour.

Actually it was Daddy who saw the ad in the newspaper last Oct 28th - so we have to rush to Trinoma to have a glimpse of Duncan's pals - but since we arrive late, there was no more nametags, no more hotcakes and no more playing time. It was so not organized! There were even no seats for other people. Luckily, mom got a seat in-front so Duncan can watch their puppet show, magic show, bubble show and of course, the dancing Elmo, Cookie Monster, Ernie & Bert. There were also some personalities like Julius Babao and his baby, as well as Matet de Leon and her baby and the going bulilit gang... but they were just among us.... audience who wants to have a photo op with Duncan's favorites but hmpppp, boy, were the people just so loved them - - - it was so hard to take a decent pic.

Duncan & Elmo

Next pitstop was market!market! so off we go. This time, Duncan had his wrist and name tags and pancakes (which btw, was decorated by dad and mom, who also enjoyed the eating afterwards).
We also got our seats. Duncan enjoyed every minute of it and standing on his seat, he sang some songs and imitated what's on the stage. Know the song "Head and shoulder, knees and toes. Eyes and ears and mouth and nose"?

"nose"

Finally, a photo op for both dad and mom with Duncan. Although still not organized it was a lot better than in the previous mall.

But that was just the beginning, the BEST part was.... the afterdark. Its a reunion of Duncan and Market!Market!'s play place. Once we set our feet on the area, Duncan removed his crocs and off he went. He was so active. Ran here and there, climbed up and down, sliding, gliding, beaming that he's up high. Mom's heart almost lost a beat when he went inside the tunnel and wont come out! Kids were already piling outside as they can't go through the big blockage that was Duncan. What did mom do?... she went inside the kiddie tunnel hoping that it wont fell apart. It's mother's instinct kicking in - who's to blame? Duncan's so energetic - he's sweating like he just went out from the shower and didn't dry off. It's his dad guiding him all through out - mom doesn't have the courage to not be so overprotective. He's already a big boy up there.... together with the big kids.

It was really fun and you can just imagine how we have to literally pull Duncan away so his dad can rest.
